Something wonderful happened.

For those of you who don’t know W is a 4 year old diagnosed autistic. He has communication delays. Preschool and SLP have been helping him. He has recently started to use sentences. Although his sentences are choppy; every. Word. Is. It’s. Own. sentence.

But it’s progress.

When we pick up W from preschool they tell us if he’s had a good or bad day. If it was a bad day they tell us what the problems were. Usually a good day doesn’t get much detail but a great day does.

Yesterday W had a great day at preschool. He was using sentences all day, clearly communicating and even sharing and playing with the other kids.

But the wonderful thing was during outside time. One of the kids pushed down another kids and sat on him and W ran over and said “you need to get off him please”!

I could not be more proud of W. Not only for clearly communicating with sentences but for standing up to a bully and defending a friend.

Just had to share that.

I've been through a lot in my life and I've realized that sharing my story helps me to deal with things. ~ so I have started this partially to help myself deal with the various emotions as they arise but also to help others who may be going through the same thing. This is our story of living with autism. this story actually started before W was diagnosed.
