Slow journey

We’re waiting to hear back from W’s pedestrian about getting him in to get looked at. At the moment it looks like we have to wait 6 weeks. They originally suggested we just wait until his 3 yr check up but that’s 5 months away! In the meantime I am trying to get an earlier appointment with another pedestrian.

It’s frustrating. Time feels like it’s going so slowly. The sooner we can get W diagnosed the better. The average waiting list for government covered therapy is 18 months! That’s after getting diagnosed which can take a long time its self.

And of course the sooner you can get into therapy the better it is.

I've been through a lot in my life and I've realized that sharing my story helps me to deal with things. ~ so I have started this partially to help myself deal with the various emotions as they arise but also to help others who may be going through the same thing. This is our story of living with autism. this story actually started before W was diagnosed.
